This seminar is a little over an hour. The technique is interesting. I haven't tried it yet, but might this week. I'll let you know how it goes. Have any of you tried something like this?
I sort of use something like this. I use powerpoint, and make the presentation off the main points and scripture that I'm going to use for the text. Then I make a handout of the presentation (3 slides per page with lines on the side). I then handwrite in thoughts and a general movement to my sermon in the lines. Then as I preach, I rarely need to look at my notes, but only every now and again to make sure I am staying on target. I write the notes (hopefully) to have a flow and stream of thought that naturally builds. Obviously, this works well sometimes and others not so much. I feel very prepared using this method, yet find more freedom than when I used to use a manuscript. That being said, I do not think I have ever preached a sermon that I am "done" with, Sunday comes around though and I must preach what I have.
